The Official NEC (New Engineering Contract) Training & Accreditation Program was conducted very successfully in Singapore from 13 to 15 August 2025. Jeremy Bartlett SC was honoured to be invited by to the British High Commissioner’s residence, Eden Hall for the launch event for the training program and evening reception, opened by HE Nik Mehta OBE and attended by Teck Thai Heng and senior BCA representatives, Tony Ho of Development Bureau of Hong Kong, ICE representatives. It was good to see Singaporean and Hong Kong practitioners, including Bernard Ang who was a panel speaker.

As a key feature of the program, IDRA (the International Dispute Resolution Academy) created and ran Singapore’s first NEC mock mediation workshop on 14 August in association with NEC Asia Pacific. The co-mediators, Robert Gerard and Dr Fan Yang conducted a realistic 4-party NEC4 Alliance project mediation with a dynamic team of lawyers experts and industry leaders including Sybil Tan of BCA and past-president of ICE Singapore, Tony Xiang of Fangda Partners, Robin  Wilkinson of Arup Singapore and Gordon Kwok, NEC APAC tutor.
