Eric Ng maintains a broad civil litigation and arbitration practice, with a specific focus on international commercial and investor-state arbitration in the technology, construction and transportation sectiors. He regularly acts as counsel, arbitrator and tribunal secretary in complex cross-border disputes.
Eric was previously Deputy Secretary-General at Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), where he oversaw arbitration, mediation, and domain name dispute resolution matters. During his time at HKIAC, he gained extensive experience in arbitral procedure, institutional decision-making and the management of international disputes.
Eric is particularly experienced in disputes arising from construction and infrastructure projects. He has advised on the development of Hong Kong’s construction adjudication framework and served as a consultant to the Development Bureau in relation to adjudication rules, giving him a unique perspective on the resolution of construction disputes.
Before joining the Bar, Eric worked in the field of Information Systems and Marketing. This commercial and technical background informs his practice in technology-related disputes, including matters involving technology transfer arrangements, digital assets, crypto-related issues and emerging technologies.
Eric is a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and is listed on the CIETAC Panel of Arbitrators. He has also been appointed as arbitrator in proceedings conducted under the ICC, HKIAC and SIAC Rules, as well as in multiple ad-hoc proceedings.
