Regina Lai joins Chambers following the completion of her pupillage, during which she trained under experienced members of the Bar, including Mr Sebastian Hughes and Mr Lavesh Kirpalani. She is developing a broad civil and criminal practice and welcomes instructions across all areas of Chambers’ work.
During her pupillage, Regina gained valuable experience in civil and commercial litigation matters, including tort, contract, company and contempt of court proceedings. Her work also encompassed matrimonial matters and non-refoulement claims, providing her with exposure to a wide range of legal issues. In the criminal sphere, she assisted in drafting submissions and plea-bargaining representations in cases involving offences such as rape, voyeurism, burglary, drug trafficking and dangerous driving.
Shortly before joining Chambers, Regina served as a contract marshal to The Honourable Mr Justice Jonathan Harris at the High Court. She has also assisted arbitrators at the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre and the Arbitration and Mediation Centre of the World Intellectual Property Organisation, further strengthening her exposure to arbitration and dispute resolution.
Regina was called to the Hong Kong Bar in 2025. She holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Laws from The University of Hong Kong, a Master of Laws (Distinction) from the London School of Economics and Political Science, a Graduate Diploma in Law (Distinction) from City, University of London, and a Bachelor of Science in Philosophy (First Class Honours) from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She is also a Charles Ching Scholar.
Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin, Regina accepts instructions to advise and appear in both English and Chinese.
We are delighted to welcome Regina to Prince’s Chambers and look forward to supporting her continued development and future success at the Bar.
