At a recent panel on “Interim Relief in Cross-Border Disputes: Freezing Assets, Preserving Evidence, Securing Leverage – Legal Strategies, Tactical Timing and Enforcement Realities,” at the Asia Forum: 6th International Arbitration, Corporate Fraud & Anti-Trust Summit Hong Kong in June 2026, Jeremy Bartlett SC explored the increasingly critical role of interim measures and enforcement in international disputes.

Alongside Jeremy and pictured were fellow panellists Chartered Arbitrator Dr Caroline Kenny KC, Minter Ellison Partner William Barber and Covenant Chambers Managing Director Ee Yang Lee. The panel was moderated by Leonora Riesenburg, Independent Chartered Arbitrator and Accredited Mediator, INTADR DMCC.

The discussion highlighted how timely applications for relief can be decisive in safeguarding a party’s position before a final award or judgment. Panellists examined practical strategies for identifying and securing assets across multiple jurisdictions, emphasising the importance of coordination between local counsel and international legal teams to navigate differing legal thresholds, evidentiary standards and procedural requirements. The discussion covered recent caselaw, procedural and substantive differences across APAC and the impact of this in terms of enforcement under the New York Convention.

The session concluded with a Q&A, followed by post-event networking enlivened by the opportunity to sample a number of aged malt whiskies.
