Olga Boltenko recently delivered a training session on Investment Law in Africa and Asia at the 9th Training Session of the China-AALCO Exchange and Research Program on International Law (Hong Kong SAR Session), at the invitation of the Asian Academy of International Law (AAIL), where Olga serves as a Research Fellow.

The programme brought together delegates from across Asia, Africa and the Middle East, including representatives of ministries of foreign affairs, ministries of justice, international organisations and government agencies from more than 30 jurisdictions.

Olga’s session focused on treaty planning and investment arbitration, drawing on developments and trends across both Africa and Asia. The discussion explored the evolving investment treaty landscape, practical considerations for investors and states, and the growing interaction between the two regions in international investment law.

The programme featured an outstanding line-up of speakers from leading institutions and organisations, including the Asian Academy of International Law, City University of Hong Kong, Milbank, Gall, Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer, Des Voeux Chambers, East Lane, Target International Trustee Limited and HKIAC.
