INSIGHTS

Suhail Bindra attended the Thomson Reuters Hong Kong AI & Legal Tech Forum in May 2026, where speakers examined how to use generative and “agentic” AI effectively, how to measure its effectiveness and ROI, and how AI‑powered research and “cognitive offloading” can move low‑risk, repetitive work off lawyers’ desks so they can focus on higher‑value judgment and advocacy work.

The forum also addressed expectations of in‑house counsel, evolving approaches to training and assessment, and the need to keep humans firmly in the loop so that AI is able to improve junior lawyers’ quality of life without weakening supervision, scrutiny or professional standards.
