Jeremy Bartlett was honoured to be invited to attend and speak at the “Summit on the Practical Development of Foreign-related Rule of Law” held in Beijing on 30 May 2025 to commemorate the 35th Anniversary of the Lord Chancellor’s Training Scheme for Mainland Chinese lawyers. The event was organised and sponsored by JunHe LL, Beijing, Zhonglun Law Firm, Beijing Dacheng Law Office LLP (Ningbo), Beijing TianTai Law Firm, Beijing Tianyan Law Firm, Beijing Long An Law Firm and attended by leading academics and many leading Chinese legal practitioners. He participated in a lively panel session on arbitration topics, including testing the limits of what is arbitrable, ably moderated by Shanshan Huang.
The opening Address was given by Qingyou Wang, Vice Chaiman of All China Lawyers Association with further welcome and keynote speeches given by, amongst others, Ruiqi Liu, Dean of the Law College at Renmin University of China, Richard Atkinson, President of The Law Society of England and Wales. Adrian Hughes KC, Chaiman of the UK China Law Council and Member of the Advisory Board of the Belt and Road Institute, Professor Xi Chao, Dean of the Faculty of Law, The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Warren Hua, Managing Partner of JunHe LLP.
